An expat has opened up on his experience since moving from the UK to Norway.

Speaking excluively to GB News, he explained what he has enjoyed most about the experience.

There is a lot to be learned from living in a different country and some Britons will want to experience another lifestyle.

There are around 13,000 British expats living in Norway and the country has plenty to offer.

British expat Robert, 30, moved from central Scotland to Oslo.

He explained there are highs and lows when trying to settle abroad, but he has a lot to be grateful for in his new home.

“The best thing is having the opportunity to live in a country different from my own original country,” he said.

As well as experiencing another city and way of life, Robert added he enjoys the city lifestyle.

He added: “There is a lot more going on than in parts of the UK, like the smaller towns in Scotland. It’s better.”

While Robert is enjoying the experience, he said there is still a lot of miss about the UK.

In particular, the expat said it can be challenging to live so far away.

“I miss being with family and friends,” he told GB News.

Settling into a new country can take time, but it can be made more difficult when there is a language barrier.

While many people in Norway will speak English, Robert explained not knowing the language is still a challenge.

Robert said: “The biggest challenge is the language.

“Even though you can get by with English, to properly integrate into society here, you need to speak the Norwegian language.”
