There were loud cheers for Donald Trump after he was shown on camera for the first time at the Super Bowl ahead of Kansas City Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles.

Trump is the first sitting president in the history of the United States to attend a Super Bowl, making history in New Orleans at the Superdome.

And as Jon Baptiste sang the national anthem and players and fans alike listened with intent, the cameras panned to the president.

He stood saluting the anthem, drawing a huge reaction from the crowd with Chiefs and Eagles fans both in unison cheering on the newly-elected commander-in-chief.

It was not the first time that Trump had made an appearance, though it was the first time on camera, as the crowd went wild when he was seen on the pitch earlier in the night.

Trump walked onto the field alongside his daughter Ivanka and son Eric to shake hands with both players and officials.

Trump showed his support for the families who were affected by the horrific ISIS attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve.

Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar drove a truck down the sidewalk and into a large crowd of people celebrating the New Year, with 15 people losing their lives and 57 people injured.

With the Super Bowl going ahead not far from the attack and the president declaring his decision to make an appearance at the game, it has led to an intense increase in security.
