Michael J Fox has opened up about his marriage to wife of 35 years, Tracy Pollan, as he gave a rare insight into his personal life.
The iconic Back to The Future actor detailed how only “one person” knows the real him as he reflected on his marriage.
Fox, 62, was asked about the secret to his long-lasting marriage, and admitted: “We just make it up as we go along.”
Speaking to PEOPLE, he continued: “It’s interesting, being married for 35 years. Yeah. I mean, the joke is you say I’ve been married 35 years, and it’s [been] the best 35 years of my life so think about that one for a second.”
The Canadian went on to add of his marriage: “But it’s great. It’s great having a partner and having someone that knows you in a [certain] way when everyone in the world thinks they know you. [Only] one person actually knows you.”
Despite what he deemed a physically challenging year, Fox told the publication he has plenty of things to look forward to at the moment.

“You know, my daughter’s getting married too… good things are happening, and life is good. And so it’s been a good year, for sure,” he added.
The actor starred in the 1980s classic films and has been living with Parkinson’s since 1991 when he was just 29.Speaking recently, the actor called the condition “the gift that keeps on taking” as he spoke on BBC Breakfast.
“I would say it’s a gift and people would look at me and I’d say it’s a gift that keeps on taking, but it’s a gift,” he candidly claimed.
Fox continued: “I realised I had to turn it around and turn it into something and make it some positive thing that affected other people in a positive way.

“So I think that’s why I started the foundation, but it took me a long time to get there.”
He went on to describe the documentary as showing what happens when “an incurable optimist meets an incurable disease” as he reflected on the progressive disorder.
Fox also made an appearance at this year’s BAFTA awards, presenting the gong to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which ended up receiving seven awards on the night.
He received a standing ovation from the audience after being helped to the stage in a wheelchair.

Host David Tennant described the actor as a “true legend” while introducing Fox.
He stated: “To present it, we have a true legend of cinema.
“He was the film star of the 1980s his charitable foundation has raised over $2 billion, he was Marty McFly in Back to the Future… Michael J Fox.”
