TV chef James Martin has updated fans about his health after detailing his cancer diagnosis last year.
The 51-year-old Saturday Morning star went public with his health battle in 2023 after he was embroiled in a “bullying” storm following his behaviour on the set of one of his shows.
A leaked tape, obtained by The Sun, showed him ranting furiously at his TV crew in a foul-mouthed verbal onslaught.
It came from a behind-the-scenes moment on James Martin’s Spanish Adventure in 2018. In response, Martin admitted he “regrets” his actions and explained he had been struggling following a culmination of events, from the death of his grandfather, a home invasion and his cancer diagnosis.
Speaking on Monday, he gave an update on his health, saying: “The stitches have fallen out, as you know, the last time I was on [Lorraine], I was in the middle of operations.”
Celebrating the positive milestone in his recovery now the stitches have fallen out, he continued: “As we speak, the stitches have fallen out of my body at the moment and that’s all clear, onwards and upwards!”

Speaking last year as he reflected on the leaked rant, Martin stated: “I was diagnosed with cancer on my face and I had to have surgery, which I couldn’t do until two days before Christmas when we had finished filming.
“Since then it has returned on several occasions and I have to have regular treatments.”
He went on to say he “wholly regrets” his outburst and assured fans “lessons have been learned”.
The presenter’s previous health update came in November, when he opened up during a tour at Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall.

“For me personally, I’ve been through a lot of s**t with cancer but I’m getting sorted at the end of next month.
“I will be back fighting at the end of February but I’m going on a little bit of a break to get that sorted.”
He concluded: “I just wanted to say thank you for all your support and all your messages.”
