Israeli soldiers stumbled upon horrifying scenes in Kfar Aza, a kibbutz located just three miles to the east of the Gaza border that was captured by Hamas militants for two days at the beginning of the conflict.
Using guns, grenades and knives, Hamas terrorists indiscriminately beheaded men, women, children and babies in their beds early on Oct. 7 after they crossed the border, Israel authorities said.
Nicole Zedek, an i24News reporter speaking from the scene of the gruesome attack, said a soldier told her that they found women and babies “with their heads cut off.” No photographic evidence of beheaded babies has been produced, however.
According to economics minister Nir Barkat, officials in Israel have already heard of the shocking reports of children who were burnt alive, beheaded or “shot in the head.” Barkat also warned that Israel will “wipe out” all the militants, infrastructure and people supporting Hamas.
“We’re coming in to kill the militants, and any civilians [should] move aside. If you do not move aside and you’re giving cover to the Hamas militants, you’re risking your life. We do not want to hurt innocent people,” cautioned Barkat. (Related: Rick Wiles of TruNews: Hamas attack on Israel was WELL-PLANNED and CHOREOGRAPHED.)
Egyptian intelligence allegedly warned Israel about the Hamas attack
Barkat’s warning comes as local media reports suggest that Israel had been warned about the Hamas attack by Egyptian intelligence. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office denied having any prior knowledge of the attack, which has been called a “complete intelligence failure.”
Visibly shaken by the horrible actions of the Hamas, Zedek said no one could have predicted the horrific reports from Israeli soldiers.
Zedek said at least 40 babies were taken out on gurneys, with soldiers “going house to house still taking out dead bodies.” She added that many cots and buggies were abandoned in the streets as scared families tried to run from the terrorists.
Hamas militants stormed the village in “waves” every 20 minutes for at least 48 excruciating hours.
Disturbing images show blood-soaked baby seats strewn between the burned-out houses, where Hamas militants seemed to have indiscriminately opened fire on vehicles.
Major General Itai Veruv described appalling scenes of brutal violence, with some families murdered in their homes.
While talking to reporters, Veruv said soldiers have seen babies, mothers and fathers slain by terrorists. “It’s something I’ve never seen in my life. It’s something we used to imagine from our grandfathers, grandmothers in the pogrom in Europe and other places,” added Veruv.
Reporters who were allowed into the village on Oct. 10 were met with the horrifying “smell of death.”
Even Israeli soldiers were visibly shaken by the brutality as they discovered several streets with corpses after Hamas terrorists went door-to-door gunning down families. Graphic images showed families murdered in their bedrooms and living rooms as the walls of their homes were full of bullet holes.
Because the bodies of victims are still being recovered in the decimated village, the total death toll remains unknown. One soldier said the scene reminded him of “the pogroms and of the Nazis.”
More than 100 bodies have also been discovered in the kibbutz Be’eri, which was one of the first places targeted by Hamas militants.
Volunteers wearing yellow vests and face masks carried the dead out of the destroyed homes on stretchers.
