Tyson Fury has dismissed claims that he suffered a broken nose during his first professional defeat against Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed world title clash in May.
The British heavyweight, who lost to Usyk via split decision, addressed speculation about the injury that emerged after he appeared visibly troubled during the ninth round of their bout.
Speaking to TNT Sports Boxing, Fury clarified: “There was nothing wrong with my nose, just a bit of blood. You get punched on the nose, your eyes water. It wasn’t broken.”
The clarification comes after speculation about the severity of his injury during the fight, particularly in the ninth round where Usyk had him against the ropes and nearly prompted the referee to stop the contest.

The Ukrainian champion ended up securing a huge victory in their first meeting, with Fury himself acknowledging that Usyk “won the first fight fair and square.”
It was also the first professional loss of the 36-year-old’s career.
Fury, who will likely enter the rematch as the underdog, remains confident based on his previous success in rematches.

The Gypsy King has a perfect record in second encounters, having stopped John McDermott, Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder in their respective rematches.
“It’s actually been about four and half years – the Deontay Wilder II fight – since I was the underdog in a fight,” Fury said.
“I’m looking forward to a fantastic fight.

Fury is, however, adamant this will be the best showdown of the lot.
“Four weeks to go to the biggest fight in boxing. Me and Usyk, and I’m coming in hot. I’m coming in hot! Get up, can’t wait,” the British heavyweight posted.
He added with characteristic confidence: “December 21… the belts are gonna be mine again! Get up.”
