Eddie Hearn has set a tight deadline for Tyson Fury to end his latest retirement if a highly anticipated summer clash with Anthony Joshua is to materialise.
The Matchroom Boxing promoter insists Fury must return within “the next three or four weeks” for the potential blockbuster bout to proceed.
“None of us know what Fury will do next, but if we are to see the fight in the summer, he would probably have to come out of retirement in the next three or four weeks,” Hearn told the Daily Mail.
The boxing world has responded with scepticism to Fury’s most recent retirement announcement.

He remains cautiously optimistic about Fury’s return to the ring.
“I think he will be back, but it’s in his hands. For AJ, we have options to pursue and we are looking at them currently,” Hearn added.
Fury has remained silent since announcing his retirement on Monday, which many view as a potential negotiating tactic.

However, his promoter Frank Warren has dismissed such speculation.
“What is there to negotiate? [Fury’s] the A-side of the card,” Warren said. “I mean who do you think is the A-side of the card? It’s a no brainer, isn’t it?”
Warren expressed indifference about the potential matchup, too.

“For me? I couldn’t give a toss. It doesn’t bother me at all,” he stated. “That fight, if it was going to happen, it would’ve happened and if he’d have gone into it, he’d have been the A-side of it.”
Should Joshua’s plans with Fury fall through, he is looking towards alternative opponents.
The priority would be facing the winner of Daniel Dubois’s IBF world-title fight against Joseph Parker in February.

Warren, meanwhile, has been critical of Joshua’s recent performance against Daniel Dubois back in September – when the Watford-born star lost via knockout.
“I mean AJ’s last fight, [against Daniel Dubois] he got well and truly beaten,” Warren claimed.
