Many Britons who dream of the beach think of sunny paradises such as Spain, Portugal or Greece.
However, the UK is home to some beautiful stretches of sand, stones and sea. Two have been named as beaches that “stand out for their commitments to sustainability”.
In Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2024, it named the “best of the best beaches”.
While no UK beaches made the top 25, two were honoured in another important beach lineup.

“Try some water sports, go horseback riding, or bring your dog (it’s pet-friendly with some seasonal restrictions) and take a walk on the shore.
“There are plenty of food options, from beachside cafes to nearby restaurants, plus parking’s a breeze.”

The website stated: “For eco-conscious travellers, the below winners stand out for their commitments to sustainability as measured by a combination of inputs from our data partners at BeCause (via the Blue Flag organisation) as well as internal Tripadvisor data points, including beaches where Tripadvisor users were most likely to be found discussing sustainability in positive reviews.”
