Marella Cruises has announced that Marella Discovery will become an adult-only ship for summer 2026.
The vessel will be based in Limassol, Cyprus, offering exclusive sailings to destinations in Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey.
This decision comes in response to the growing demand for adult-only holidays and follows the success of Marella Explorer 2, the cruise line’s popular adult-only ship.
The new programme, which went on sale this week on October 17, 2024, aims to provide customers with a variety of itineraries to explore the stunning sights of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Marella Discovery will offer three distinct itineraries, all sailing round trips from Limassol. The Grecian Discovery route will visit Piraeus, Santorini, Bodrum, Heraklion, and Rhodes Town.
The Aegean Gems itinerary includes stops at Souda, Piraeus, Izmir, Mykonos and Rhodes Town.
For those seeking a different experience, the Aegean Delights route will call at Kos Town, Kusadasi, Patmos, Marmaris, and Alanya. These carefully curated itineraries aim to showcase the best of Cyprus, Greece and Turkey, catering to adult travellers seeking diverse cultural experiences and stunning Mediterranean landscapes.
Managing director of Marella Cruises Chris Hackney said: “This addition to the summer 2026 programme will allow customers who prefer an adult-only ship a variety of itineraries to explore the sights of Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.
“We know from our research that three-quarters of customers said adult-only ships were important to them when making a booking.
“Given the popularity of the adult-only ship, Marella Explorer 2, we hope this announcement will encourage even more new to cruise customers to sail with Marella Cruises in 2026.”
