Cruise prices have shot up in the last year according to new research.

Data showed holidaymakers could fork out up to 37 per cent more now than a year ago.

Cruises are not cheap, often costing thousands of pounds per person.

Prices are up nearly 40 per cent since last year, and 43 per cent higher than the same time pre Covid on some ships, according to data by Cruise Critic.

Cruises are a great way to travel to lots of destinations in style.

Board and food are often included, but holidaymakers should check if that is the case before making a booking.

Alcoholic and speciality drinks often come with an additional charge and drinks packages can be purchased to help those who know they will drink a lot save money.

Some on board restaurants and shore excursions may also be charged separately.

This comes as an expert shared an important warning for anyone thinking of booking a cruise.

They urged Britons to “think carefully” before they travel, and things like what room they choose should be considered.

Suites and rooms can vary greatly in price and in amenities.

Those planning to spend more time in their room may want to splash out for a better room.
