Teenage son of Rwandan migrants responsible for recent U.K. STABBING SPREE that killed 3 children
The 17-year-old boy responsible for the deaths of three young children and injuries of nine others in a Taylor Swift-themed dance class is a son of Rwandan immigrants.
The stabbing occurred at Hart Studio in Southport in northwest England on July 29. The teen entered the workshop and attacked attendees indiscriminately, which resulted in the death of three children: Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, 9. Eight others were injured, with five of them in critical condition, as well as two teachers, who tried protecting the younger victims.
The victims were taken to three hospitals, including the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
That same day, Merseyside Police also confirmed that the suspect was a 17-year-old boy living in Banks, a village near Southport. Reports stated that the boy was originally born in the Welsh capital of Cardiff, but eventually moved to Southport with his Rwandan parents at the age of six. The boy, whose name cannot be disclosed for legal reasons, remains in police custody for further questioning and investigation.
“Armed police have detained a male and seized a knife. He has been taken to a police station,” said Merseyside Police. “Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident.”
The motive of the attack remains unclear, but initial police reports stated that the incident is not terror-related.
Peaceful vigil for the victims turns into a violent protest
Mourners left flowers and stuffed animals in tribute at a police cordon, while others posted online messages in support of Leanne Lucas, the organizer of the event, who was one of those attacked.
However, the incident sparked violent protests outside a mosque in northwest England, a location near Hart Space. Police clashed with demonstrators, some in masks, who hurled bottles and stones at officers and set a police van ablaze. Additionally, firecrackers explosion, sirens wailing and a helicopter hovering overhead contributed to the chaos. Protesters pelted objects at officers in riot gear and shields, while chanting “No surrender!” and “English till I die!” Some officers even suffered minor injuries, including one with a broken nose, while vans were damaged by fire and rocks.
“There has been much speculation and hypothesis around the status of a 17-year-old male who is currently in police custody and some individuals are using this to bring violence and disorder to our streets,” said Merseyside Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss. “We have already said that the person arrested was born in the U.K. and speculation helps nobody at this time.”
