“The challenge we have in dealing with this administration is that they caused the problem,” said Johnson during an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo on Fox News. “They are the root cause. They want an open border. The repercussions of this massive, unprecedented flow are going to be with us for years, probably decades. This is a disaster.”
Johnson also claimed that the recent efforts of the Biden Administration to supposedly address the escalating border crisis are merely superficial attempts by Biden to salvage his plummeting polling numbers ahead of November’s presidential election.
“The only thing they see is a threat to Joe Biden’s reelection, which is why they’re trying to do something about it. This is so unprecedented. This is going to take unprecedented actions to fix it. The same old business as usual, ‘let’s do a deal, let’s tweet the legislative language,’ that’s not going to work.”
Johnson argued that political optics and not a genuine commitment to securing the borders were the primary motivations of the administration behind addressing the border crisis. He stressed that conventional approaches, such as negotiating deals or relying on legislative language, would be insufficient to resolve the issue.
“We need to stop this flow. We need to show the world that we’re going to secure our border; we’re going to seal it,” Johnson said.
Moreover, Bartiromo pointed out that leftist forces that supported open border policies were pursuing a “New World Order” to fully transform America.
Johnson agreed and concluded: “They want global governance. They want no borders. They certainly want people coming to this country and probably destroying it, so I guess we level the playing field with the rest of the world. This is going to destroy our country. There’s no other way of looking at this.”
Another four years of Biden’s border invasion will destroy America
Political commentator, former New Hampshire Republican congressional candidate and former White House Assistant Press Secretary under former President Donald Trump Karoline Leavitt, in an opinion piece written for the Telegraph, supported Johnson’s claims, noting that the Biden administration’s policies have created a so-called “golden era” for illegal aliens attempting to enter the country.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, this influx of migrants has cost around $150 billion annually to provide services such as healthcare, education and welfare to illegal migrants. The flow of deadly drugs like fentanyl crossing the southern border has also surged by 462 percent since 2020.
The quantity of fentanyl entering the U.S. monthly is now sufficient to potentially kill every American. Additionally, a record number of individuals on terror watch lists have crossed into the U.S. from Mexico.
“Biden’s border crisis is unsustainable. No nation can withstand a nonstop flow of millions of unvetted illegal immigrants and deadly drugs. If Biden is reelected and this crisis continues for four more years, it will destroy our country forever,” Leavitt wrote.
She then compared the track records of former President Donald Trump and Biden on immigration policies: Trump deported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants annually during his term and plans to use the Alien Enemies Act to deport gang members in his second term. Meanwhile, Biden only implemented a deportation moratorium, suggesting a DUI should not lead to deportation, and saw a significant decrease in ICE arrests during his first year.
