Those travelling with Ryanair could be impacted by weather conditions and European ATC staff shortages.

The disruptions are outside of the control of the airline, but they could mean delays for holidaymakers.

It shared an update today for those flying from Leeds Bradford as poor weather could impact flights.

A statement said: “Potential disruptions to and from Leeds Bradford (Wednesday 16 October) due to low visibility.

Delays have affected flights for months

“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from Leeds Bradford on Wednesday 16 October should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from Leeds Bradford today.”

This is not the only disruption Britons flying with the budget airline should be aware of, however.

Ryanair has told customers of ongoing delays that have affected many airlines in the last few months as a result of strikes.

The airline continued: “Ryanair apologised to its passengers for the excessive flight delays caused by European ATC staff shortages today which is affecting all European airlines.

“ATC services, which have had the benefit of no French ATC strike disruption this summer, continue to underperform (despite flight volumes being five per cent behind 2019 levels) with repeated ‘staff shortages’.

“On Wednesday 16 October, nine per cent of Ryanair’s first wave departures (52 of 560 aircraft) were delayed due to ATC ‘staff shortages’. These repeated flight delays due to ATC mismanagement are unacceptable.

“We apologise to our passengers for these repeated ATC flight delays which are deeply regrettable but beyond Ryanair’s control.

“We encourage passengers to visit atcruinedourholiday.com and demand that the EU Commission take urgent action to improve Europe’s ATC system.”
