Manchester United reportedly plan on bringing in Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake, in addition to Ruud van Nistelrooy, as Erik ten Hag looks to reshuffle his coaching staff.
Ten Hag had been expected to leave Old Trafford prior to the club’s dramatic 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City last month.
United sounded out the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Marco Silva and Roberto Martinez about potentially taking over.
But Ten Hag will now be staying, with the 54-year-old eager to build on two trophies in as many years.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United are set to bring in Hake as they reshuffle their coaching staff.
The Dutchman steered Go Ahead Eagles to ninth in the Eredivisie table last term, with the club picking up 46 points from their 34 matches.
Hake started his coaching career back in 2010 when he took charge of Emmen before moving to FC Twente in August 2015.
As well as Go Ahead Eagles, he’s also worked at Utrecht, Jong Utrecht and Cambuur, too.
Hake is expected to be joined at United by Red Devils icon Van Nistelrooy.

The Dutchman established himself as one of the greatest goalscorers in Premier League history during his time at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy fired United to league glory in 2003, with the Red Devils finishing top ahead of fierce rivals Arsenal.
He left in 2006 after falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson and went on to play for Real Madrid, Hamburg and Malaga.
Van Nistelrooy guided PSV Eindhoven to Eredivisie glory in 2023, with the club winning 64.71 per cent of their matches during his time in the dugout.
However, the 47-year-old left after believing he didn’t have the support of the club’s hierarchy.

PSV released a statement at the time saying they were sad about his departure.
They said: “Van Nistelrooy reported this morning that in his opinion there was not enough support within the club to continue longer.
“He immediately explained this to the players and staff.
“PSV regrets Van Nistelrooy’s decision and is grateful to him for winning the Johan Cruyff Shield and the KNVB Cup this season and hopes to close the football year with second place.”
Dutch journalists aren’t sure about United going for Van Nistelrooy, however.

Mike Verweij, who works for De Telegraaf, said: “Van Nistelrooy is a great at Manchester United.
“But yes, the reason why he is brought in that direction by Ten Hag is of course to be an extra shield for Ten Hag. Of course, Van Nistelrooy should never want that.
“The only thing you do by going to Manchester United is increase Ten Hag’s credit.
“Are you going to let yourself be used for that, in quotes?”
And Valentijn Driessen added: “I think his name was mentioned there once when Ten Hag started working there, but he didn’t like it at the time.

“He always showed himself to be very ambitious and was ready for a job as a head coach, preferably in a competition in which he had played. So, then you end up in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands and England.
“Then you can become head coach of Burnley, who are good for former players. And he is working on his way and would like to return to the Premier League.
“Then I find it incomprehensible that you would choose a position as Erik ten Hag’s first, second or third assistant, while you could become head coach of Burnley.
“Unless you contractually agree that you will be Ten Hag’s successor, then it is a different story. But I don’t think so…”
