Greece represents the pinnacle of Mediterranean charm, offering a warmer climate and a slower lifestyle to expats from the UK.

Beyond the nation’s picturesque landmarks, however, expats will discover several unique perks that they can’t find at home.

Experts at Immigrant Invest cite safety levels and a lower cost of living as two key advantages the nation has to offer.

“Move to Greece and get high levels of safety, excellent education opportunities, comprehensive healthcare options, and a dependable rule of democratic law,” the experts wrote.

Immigrant Invest points out that In 2022, Greece ranked the top EU country with the highest net inflows of foreign millionaires.

“The Greece Golden Visa Program is considered one of the most affordable residences by investment programs providing European access,” they said.

“Successful applications and their families can benefit from visa-free access to Europe’s Schengen Area within two months of applying.”

According to the experts, those who relocate to the sun-drenched country will benefit from a staggeringly lower cost of living too.

“In Greece, consumer prices, including rent, are 30 per cent lower than in the UK. Renting a one-bedroom apartment in the city centre costs €400 on average.

“Greece is one of the safest European countries and has an easy-going relaxed feel.”

However, cities like Athens have a considerable crime rate, and there are areas such as Axarchia and Omonia where you better stay home at night, the experts warned.

Daniel, an expat living in Greece, has documented his life abroad since relocating to the sun-drenched region of Nafplio from the UK.

“After living in major cities like London, Houston, Caracas, I think there is something magical about living in a small community, and with beautiful scenery,” he told his followers.

To get to most out of life in Greece, Daniel stresses the importance of learning the local language.
