A Premier League footballer was arrested during a training session on suspicion of making a non-consensual sex tape, before being released without further action.

The international player, who is in his 20s, was taken into custody for six hours of questioning after being escorted from the training pitch by uniformed officers.

The arrest came after allegations from a woman who accused the unnamed footballer of recording their intimate relationship without her consent.

Teammates were initially convinced the arrest was a prank when police officers walked onto the training pitches.

“A lot of stars initially thought it was a wind-up when two uniformed officers strode on to the pitches during training. Everyone was in disbelief. Players were open-mouthed. No one was sure what was going on,” a source told The Sun.

The player was escorted from the pitch in front of his shocked colleagues.

Police seized two mobile phones during their investigation, examining them for footage and video recordings.

A police statement confirmed: “A man in his 20s was arrested at an address, on suspicion of voyeurism.

“It was determined no further action would be taken due to insufficient evidence.”

The investigation concluded without charges, with authorities determining there was not enough evidence to proceed with the case.

The case has now been closed following the police’s decision not to pursue further action due to lack of evidence.
