Callum Hudson-Odoi has quickly dismissed claims that he ever visited Jeffrey Epstein’s private island as he “would’ve been a child at the time”.

Online sleuths have taken over social media in recent days after it was revealed that previously sealed court documents from a lawsuit involving Epstein would be made public.

The plan to release the documents prompted wild rumours on social media, with rampant misinformation about their contents.

Hudson-Odoi’s name was among the names being mentioned by the rumour mongers that could be revealed in the court documents.

Such was the ferocity of the rumours, Hudson-Odoi has now felt obliged to put the speculation to bed once and for all in a strong denial of any involvement by pointing out how young he would have been at the time of the Epstein scandal.

He wrote: “I have seen this circulating around social media for a while now, and I wasn’t going to comment on it as it is absurd (and I would’ve been a child at the time); however, understanding my position as a role model, I would like to make it absolutely clear that I have never been part of the Epstein scandal nor have l ever been to Epstein island; so please stop tagging me in these posts. Thank you.”

It has since emerged that the list where Hudson-Odoi’s name featured was related to celebrities who tested positive for Covid-19 early on in the pandemic back in 2020.

Hudson-Odoi was one of the first sportsmen to have contracted the virus before the Premier League was shut down.

The former Chelsea star would have been just eight years of age when Epstein was first sentenced to prison to a felony charge of solicitation of prostitution involving a minor.

After Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008, accusations began to be made that he set up sexual encounters with rich and powerful men with Prince Andrew named as one of them.

All of those accused have denied the allegations against them.

But now court documents containing information on associates of the disgraced paedophile, who killed himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial, have been released with high-profile celebrities being named.

Former presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump feature as well as Kevin Spacey, Stephen Hawking, Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio among many others.

None have been accused of being involved in Epstein’s crimes and most names are mentioned in passing and their inclusion does not suggest any wrongdoing relating to the deceased paedophile.
