Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood has urged food enthusiasts to vote for The Hairy Bikers in a prestigious award.
The cooking duo consisting of Si King and the late Dave Myers have entertaining fans on screen for decades, and sadly made headlines at the end of February when Myers, 66, died following a battle with cancer.
Hollywood, 58, pleaded with voters to throw their support behind King, who had shared a moving snap on Instagram to announce the “bittersweet” nomination.
Along with a photo of himself and close pal co-star Myers, he wrote: “Dave and I were so chuffed to be nominated once again for the Fortnum & Mason Food Personality of the Year Award for the 4th year running.
“Dave was so proud of this award, particularly because it’s voted for by our loyal followers and fans, the people who matter most to us.
“It’s really strange for us all not to have Dave around but for now, we will keep posting on the Hairy Bikers socials to keep in touch with all those people who have been so kind over many years and particularly in recent weeks.
“We’ll also keep you updated on the events and projects which will live on and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at some of the Summer festivals this year. Si x.”
Hollywood soon took to the comments section of the 57-year-old’s post to encourage Hairy Bikers fans to vote.
He penned: “Please vote for the Hairy bikers for Fortnum and Mason personalities of the year…” along with an emoji of hands clapping.
Meanwhile, other fans pleaded with King to remain on screens despite the loss of Myers.

One shared: “Si, whilst it will be unbearably difficult to consider right now. Dave would want you to continue sharing your cooking. I hope you do and with it share your memories of this cherished friendship we were all privileged to be a small part of.”
“Route 66 was peak Hairy for me. I LOVED that series. Find a way to still be with us Si. X,” another wrote.
A third added: “I wouldn’t presume to speak for others, but I’d love to see you carry on riding, cooking and visiting amazing places.”
“So, you MUST continue The Hairy Bikers legacy. Dave is with you as much as you are with him. An incredible bond. You’re one very strong man. Do what feels right. Give yourself time to plan ahead though. Sending you love and strength. Xx,” someone else commented.
