Nigel Farage has been unveiled as one of the three celebrities who’ll be tasked with the first gruelling trial of the new series.

The GB News presenter will tackle the first challenge of this year’s series alongside This Morning’s Josie Gibson and YouTuber Nella Rose.

In a first-look at the gruelling task, the trio are separated from the rest of this year’s line-up and transported to the middle of nowhere.

Dropped in the scorching Australian outback, the three will be surrounded by nothing but sand with no sign of respite in the distance.

But despite being 2,000 miles away from their fellow soon-to-be campmates, it’ll soon transpire they’ll need to pull out all the stops to help them.

Gibson, Farage and Rose will face a series of challenges in order to win time for their fellow celebs who are taking on a task of their own back on the Gold Coast.

The more time the trio earns for their campmates, the more chance their first experience in the jungle will be more bearable.

The likes of Fred Siriex, Sam Thompson, Marvin Humes, Danielle Harold, Grace Dent, Jamie Lynn Spears and Nick Pickard will all be vying for the show’s iconic stars.

And I’m A Celeb fans know all too well that stars equal food, meaning the better the famous faces do, the better the meal they’ll be eating in camp will be.

Fans will have to tune into Sunday’s premiere to find out exactly what challenges Farage, Rose and Gibson will face.

Although there are a few things Farage will be keen to avoid as he told ITV before the series started: “Nobody likes rats (or) snakes and I am dreading anything to do with heights.”

The GB News star also shared the reasons why he’s decided now is the time for him to head Down Under.

“I want to test myself,” Farage admitted. “Business, politics, media, I’ve done so many different jobs and generally I have been reasonably successful.

“But I have never been tested in quite this way. It’s such a mental test and maybe I will discover who I really am.”

Referring to last year’s divisive hire of Matt Hancock, Farage continued: “I understood why Matt Hancock did it. He went in there with his reputation on the floor.

“The truth is after the banking issue I raised a few months ago, I was standing up for a million people who had lost their bank accounts, then winning at the TRIC awards, I am going in at a different stage of my career.”

GB News is backing you all the way, Nigel!

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! launches this Sunday at 9pm on ITV1 & ITVX.
