Speaking exclusively to GB News, the former Brexit Party leader said he has been presented with a “huge opportunity”.

Nigel Farage has finally put an end to the rumours

Rumours have been rife after Nigel was spotted landing in Australia ahead of the 2023 edition of ITV’s popular reality show.

Farage is keen to appeal to a younger demographic with his participation as he prepares to face some of his biggest fears in the jungle.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

“The Brexit referendum was a long time ago, and a lot of younger people don’t know who I am or what I stand for”, he said.

“This is a really big chance to reach a big audience of young people which will be good for me and good for GB News as well.

“That’s one reason for doing it. Another reason is, for over 40 years, I’ve lived by the clock.

“Whether that’s working in financial markets, working in European Parliament, being a radio broadcaster, a speaker or presenter, I’ve lived by the numbers.

“To go away from that for several weeks is a big challenge. To confront things that are obviously frightening.

“To deal with them and come through them is a really good challenge.”

Farage has already made sacrifices in preparation for his stint down under, not least his decision to ditch alcohol.

The presenter jokingly remarked the jungle’s lack of booze is “a serious situation”, but he has been preparing himself.

Nigel Farage is concerned about the threat of ‘aggressive Remoaners’

He said: “For training, I haven’t had a drink. An alcoholic drink or tea or coffee, for five days.”

His decision to ditch the caffeinated beverages come as a result of the jungle having a similar policy for tea and coffee.

Farage admitted that he may be at a physical disadvantage in comparison to some of his younger counterparts, but feels he could make up for that with his mental capacity.

“I am going to do my best to try and take part as much as the other contestants”, he said.

“I know I go in at a physical disadvantage, but I hope I go in with some sort of mental advantage.”

Despite the threat of bungee jumping and eating kangaroo testicles, Farage remarked his biggest nightmare is potentially conversing with an “aggressive Remoaner”.

“Worst nightmare? That’s easy”, he said.

“There’s thousands of them, but anyone who is an aggressive Remoaner would be a nightmare.”
