Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been admitted to hospital and will miss Sunday’s Premier League match against Manchester United.
The 47-year-old was taken to hospital late Friday evening after feeling unwell for several days.
The club confirmed Howe remained in hospital overnight as medical staff continue to carry out tests.
Newcastle will face Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side at St James’ Park without their manager on the touchline.

Newcastle United released a statement confirming Howe’s condition, saying: “He is conscious and talking with his family, and is continuing to receive expert medical care.
“The club added that medical tests are “ongoing” after Howe was kept in hospital overnight.
