Whilst appearing on GBN Tonight with Mark Dolan, Nana slammed the ‘absurd’ display.

‘It is nonsense… I’m hoping when they look at this they realise just how ridiculous this is!’

Meanwhile Mark said he found announcing pronouns “tricky” as it means “you’re signing up to a mad ideology that you can change your biological sex.”

Nana joked “How about just sticking with your name?! The whole thing is just awful.’

Mark also expressed worry at the pressure this “compelled speech” might put on those who might not want to partake, and whether anyone would be likely to speak up against it.

Nana seemed resolute in her beliefs, insisting she “would be that person.”

She added: “I just find it absurd. These are perfectly sensible adults who could work out if someone is a he or a she.”

“You’re never going to refer to someone who you’re speaking to as a ‘she’ or a ‘her’ anyway, when you’re talking to them directly, so it’s a bit of a nonsense.”

“It gets really stupid when people start breaking the laws of English language and start calling themselves a ‘they/them’.”

ITV decided to bring back the failing reality show after Channel 4 decided to end the series. Some have questioned whether there is still life in the format, and Nana argued that stunts like this will only work against the show.

“This is some very nice people, thinking they’re going to be all inclusive and make some nice TV and show some niceness.”

“Nobody wants to see that. Nobody’s going to watch it! We want plotting and scheming and interesting stuff, not this pathetic-ness of announcing your pronouns.”
