Manchester United players have been left ‘puzzled’ by Erik ten Hag’s rotation policy, according to reports.
The Dutchman was retained in the summer after guiding the Red Devils to FA Cup glory, despite the fallen giants finishing eighth in the Premier League table.
United have continued to toil in the time since, with the club winning just two of their first seven Premier League matches.
They currently sit 14th in the league table and are already 10 points behind Liverpool at the summit, with the Reds flying under Arne Slot.

Ten Hag could be sacked by United after just over two years in the role.
And the Daily Mail say players have been left ‘puzzled’ by the 54-year-old’s rotation policy.
Ten Hag, in recent weeks, has raised eyebrows with some of his decisions.
Just last week he took off Marcus Rashford in his side’s 3-3 draw with Porto, despite the England international looking a threat.

He also previously benched the player for a goalless draw with Crystal Palace, with Alejandro Garnacho preferred on that occasion.
On Sunday, Ten Hag decided to demote Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez to the bench.
He insisted that was because of the need to rotate, with Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire starting instead.
But United still failed to win against Aston Villa, with the Red Devils forced to settle for a point.

The report also says some United staff members are unhappy with Ten Hag ordering the erection of a giant white wall at the club’s Carrington training complex.
The wall has been put up in order to shield players from prying eyes.
United insiders have said it will grant stars more privacy and protection compared to before.
But the club spending £200,000 on a giant wall has ‘raised eyebrows among staff’ at a time when the club have been making cuts behind the scenes.

INEOS, who purchased a minority stake in the club at the end of last year, cut 250 employees loose.

Yet Tuchel isn’t the only name in the frame, with Thomas Frank and Gareth Southgate also being linked.
Frank has worked wonders at Brentford and there’s a sense he’ll depart for a big club sooner, rather than later.
As for Southgate, INEOS admire the former England boss and could decide to bring him in if Ten Hag is relieved of his duties.
