Legendary darts referee Russ Bray has branded 16-year-old sensation Luke Littler a “freak” ahead of tonight’s World Championship final.
The 66-year-old has been nicknamed ‘The Voice of Darts’ and will be refereeing the momentous occasion at Alexandra Palace.
He joined Martin Daubney on GB News to reflect on the youngster’s extraordinary achievement of reaching the final.
Asked whether the teen phenomenon can be compared to golfing legend Tiger Woods, Bray said they are similar in that they can both be classed as “freaks”.

“You get freaks within a sport, and I mean that in the nicest possible way”, he said.
“There are guys that totally excel. Tiger Woods is the obvious example, Mike Tyson too when he was only young.

Bray, whose voice has become synonymous with the sport, is preparing to call time on his World Darts Championship involvement.
Tonight’s final will be his last match at the tournament before he heads into a semi-retirement.
The legendary referee told GB News he expects it to be an “emotional” affair as he prepares to call his final match at the sport’s most prestigious tournament.
“It’s going to be a magnificent spectacle”, he said.
“It’s the final one in the majors. I will still be working behind the scenes in the next few years.
“It’s going to be emotional. I’ve got some of my family coming down, my wife and kids.
“But I’ve got a lot of things to look forward to.”
