Richard Hammond has admitted his former Top Gear and The Grand Tour stars Jeremy Clarkson and James May “hated” him during filming.
The trio worked together for decades, having presented BBC’s Top Gear together from 2002 to 2015. They then went on to host amazon Prime favourite, The Grand Tour and famously have a strong rapport.
The three presenters seem to have gone their separate ways for now, but the final series of The Grand Tour began airing earlier this year and is set to wrap up in the coming months with the final episode of the show.
Clarkson, 64, busy filming his upcoming series of Clarkson’s Farm, having purchased Diddly Squat Farm and showcasing his journey on the hit Amazon Prime show.
He is already filming series four and is currently busy with the farm’s ongoing developments, especially since he purchased a pub in Oxfordshire which has seen a few mishaps during its revamp.
Earlier this year, car enthusiast Hammond, 54, announced he and daughter Izzy, 23, would be launching a podcast together.

The episodes see the father and daughter duo discussing all kinds of topics, with a focus on men’s mental health.
In the latest episode, Hammond, 54, admitted his co-stars “hated” him thanks to one of his annoying habits.
As he chatted to sleep expert Dr Lindsay Browning, he explained: “I’ll put my hands up and say in my experience I have always been a class A, Olympic medal-winning, gold-standard sleeper.”
He continued: “It’s the thing that I’ve always been best at – I’m not saying that for comedic effect, I’m better at sleeping than anything else I do, always have been.”
Alluding to his former co-stars who made up the iconic trio, he added: “In years gone by when I was doing a TV show with a couple of idiots ,we would turn up at the studio on a Wednesday morning – so Tuesday would be rehearsing, scripting, working it out, and Wednesday we’d turn up and the office was a porta cabin.”

“It was awful,” his daughter Izzy commented as he confirmed: “Yes it was. And we’d rock up, I’d be like, ‘here we go chaps.’
“And my two colleagues, men slightly older than me – 10 years older – would be in a corner, grumbling and moaning about having not slept.
“At which point, I could never help myself, I’d always leap and go ‘do you know what, I can sleep on a washing line,’ and they hated me for it.
“Insomnia is a big deal for those who suffer from it, but for those who don’t, it’s very very difficult to understand it.”

Unfortunately, Hammond can now relate to his former co-stars. He detailed: “At 54, suddenly I’ve discovered the horrors of not being able to get to sleep, and I know what they were talking about all those years ago.”
In another recent episode, Hammond also detailed how he feels “bad” for his treatment of May, 61.
He admitted he and Clarkson used to taunt their friend and colleague over his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, often referring to him as “Mr OCD”.
While chatting about the condition to anxiety expert Josh Fletcher, he confessed: “We used to… and I’m feeling bad about it talking to you now, Josh, because I’m thinking…
“‘Wait a minute – we were part of that,’ making light of what is, for some people, a really, really serious condition.”
