Former royal butler and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Paul Burrell has shared his top advice for Nigel Farage, ahead of the new series.

The GB News presenter was recently announced as one of the ten celebrities heading to Australia for the latest series of the hit ITV reality show.

Following the announcement, Nigel told GB News he has been asked “every year since 2016”, and felt this year “was the right time” to take part.

Nigel revealed: “I’ve lived on news, numbers, and information. To go away from that for several weeks is one really big challenge.”

Nigel admitted he’s worried “things could go very badly wrong” during his time on the show, as the contestants face a gruelling 24 hours a day, seven days a week on camera for up to 22 days.

Nigel joked: “I might finish up having a fight with somebody – who knows! I might get voted out on the first round, I don’t know.”

Some of the other celebrities joining Nigel on the lineup include pop star Marvin Humes, This Morning presenter Josie Gibson and Britney Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn.

Ahead of the new series, which starts on Sunday, November 19, Burrell shared his thoughts on Nigel entering the jungle.

Burrell told host Patrick Christys: “I think he’s going to be a very popular contestant because like me, he’s Marmite.

“You either like him or you loathe him, but if you like him or loathe him, you’ll still watch him, you still will be entertained by him.

“And that’s what that show is about. It’s not about how many trials you do, it’s about how popular you are with the public, because it’s a public popularity competition.”

Reflecting on his own experience, having first starred on the show in 2004, Burrell also appeared in the fourth season of the Australian version in 2018.

When asked by Patrick to offer his best advice to Nigel, Burrell said: “Do everything.”

He added: “Just hold your breath. Don’t sniff through your nose because you don’t want to smell those smells.

“Just pretend you’re going to the dentist and swallow it quick.”

Watch I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! from November 19 on ITV1 and ITVX.
