George Soros-funded think tank reports that lack of DIVERSITY and “WHITENESS” make European youth lose trust in EU
A think tank funded by globalist billionaire George Soros recently claimed that the European Union’s (EU) lack of diversity and dominance of “whiteness” are pushing young European voters to lose trust in the 27-member bloc’s agenda.
According to the report of the Berlin-based think tank the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), titled “Welcome to Barbieland: European sentiment in the year of wars and elections,” the predominance of native European politicians in the EU Parliament as well as the lack of ethnic diversity alienates the young ones supporting the union.
“Young voters will be put off supporting the bloc unless its demographics more closely resemble the national football teams of Europe,” the report stated, pointing to the multicultural makeup of teams like those in France and Belgium.
The think tank also claimed that the EU’s “whiteness” was “on full display” in recent European elections, making it harder to attract support from younger generations. (Related: No diversity for White people.)
It added that unless the EU Parliament starts to reflect the diversity seen in European football teams, which often feature players of African descent, young people across Europe may lose trust in the European Union.
On the other hand, the ECFR paper lauded European nations that have capitalized on diversity in international arenas, citing the Eurovision Song Contest and the Paris 2024 Olympics, where a significant portion of athletes are of non-European descent.
It also mentioned role models like Teddy Riner from France and Rhasidat Adeleke from Ireland as examples of athletes representing the growing multiculturalism in Europe.
Elsewhere in the report, it called for the removal of “barriers to political participation” for people of non-European backgrounds. It slammed countries like Italy for refusing to grant birthright citizenship to children born to immigrants. It also criticized how many European nations refuse to offer citizenship to illegal immigrants or temporary workers. According to the paper, this is a failure of equal political representation.
Indoctrination: European Parliament staff receiving extensive information on diversity and inclusion
During the June 2024 EU election, France picked the most diverse MEPs (ten out of 81), followed by Sweden (five out of 21). Germany and Romania each voted in three lawmakers with different backgrounds.
The European Network Against Racism (ENAR), an anti-racist NGO, told EuroNews that the lack of meaningful representation in the Parliament “reinforces our findings that this institution does not reflect the diversity of the European population,” just like what the globalist think tank is claiming.
In 2019, ENAR already said that while racial and ethnic minorities make up at least 10 percent of the European Union population, they made up about 36 (five percent) of the total number of 751 elected MEPs. This number dipped to four percent after the U.K. left the bloc.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Parliament told Euronews that all staff members joining the institutions are “receiving extensive information on diversity and inclusion via info sessions.”
Brussels – home to the EU Parliament – is one of the most ethnically diverse areas in the world with some 184 different nationalities represented.
As early as 2021, the Parliament’s Bureau has already agreed to make the administration itself “more diverse.” It also approved a two-year roadmap of ambitious milestones on disability, LGBTIQ+ matters and racial and ethnic diversity, to reach this target by 2024.
