“The UK is probably the best place to meet people from all over the world,” experts at Study Portals Master said.

“Last year, in 2021/2022 around 680,000 international students were pursuing their degrees in the UK. That is a lot.

“Not to mention the huge expat communities in cosmopolitan hubs such as London or Manchester etc – there are more international people in the UK than the population of some countries.”

The opportunity to meet new people is not the only reason why people may choose the UK for their new home.

Expats shared the working situation is what they loved most about the UK, according to the Expat Insider 2023 survey.

This looked at factors such as personal finance, expat essentials, quality of life, ease of settling in and working abroad into account.

The survey looked at countries across the country and the UK was in the top 10 for career prospects, work culture and satisfaction.

An impressive 70 per cent of expats were happy with their work prospects in the country and they believed it had improved their careers.

“What I love best about the UK is the opportunity to improve my work situation,” an expat from Italy said.

Some 67 per cent of expats shared they were happy with their lives in the UK overall.
