Foreign media outlets have blasted England in the wake of their poor 1-1 draw with Denmark at Euro 2024 on Thursday, with Gareth Southgate also targeted.
The Three Lions were poor throughout the match at the Frankfurt Arena and were only able to walk away with a point after Morten Hjulmand cancelled out Harry Kane’s opener.
England are among the favourites to go all the way in Germany this summer due to the sheer amount of talent they have at their disposal.
Unsurprisingly, foreign media outlets have revelled in the Three Lions’ flat display.

Marca led their report with a headline that read: “England smell rotten.”
The Spanish outlet also wrote another piece mocking a prediction that England would win the Euros, which was made prior to the tournament by a psychic who claims to be related to Nostradamus.
“Nostradamus’s prediction about the Euro Cup that at the moment sounds laughable,” they said.
French newspaper L’Equipe is known for being harsh when it comes to player ratings.
And they didn’t hold back on Thursday, with several underperforming players targeted.

Jude Bellingham, who was so good against Serbia on matchday one, was given just a 4/10 rating.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was given the same, with the Liverpool star hooked for the second match in a row.
Southgate himself was also handed a 4/10 rating, with Danish counterpart Kasper Hjulmand earning 7/10 after masterminding his side’s impressive display.
L’Equipe ranked Harry Kane at 5/10, saying: “Certainly, after a first blocked strike, he opened the scoring, scoring for the occasion his 13th goal in a major tournament.
“But the Bayern striker made a huge blunder by making a full-axis restart, which resulted in the equaliser for Morten Hjulmand.

“Despite his numerous dropouts, Harry Kane ultimately had little impact on his team’s offensive play, which led to his replacement in the 69th minute by Ollie Watkins.”
German newspaper BILD have also stuck the knife into England.
They ran a caption that read ‘England must fear for round of 16’ on their highlights package of the Euro 2024 fixture.
They also suggested Southgate had a ‘Kane crisis’, saying the Bayern star ‘never really got involved’ in the clash.
BILD also dubbed England ‘tame’, while suggesting they are ‘miles away’ from winning the European Championships and ending 58 years of hurt.

Kane, meanwhile, has blasted his England team-mates and admitted performance levels have been ‘dropping’ over the past two games.
“I think we’re struggling both with and without the ball,” he said when asked about the Three Lions making things difficult for themselves.
“I think the pressure in both games hasn’t been right and with the ball hasn’t been good enough.
“Everyone’s dropping below their levels a little bit. It was tough out there, but we’re calm.
“It wasn’t our greatest game but we got away with a point.”

When asked about their tendency to let opponents play, the 30-year-old added: “I think it’s something we’ve got to get better at.
“I think we’re starting games well but when the teams are dropping deeper we’re not quite sure how to get the pressure on and who’s going.
“In the second half we tried to change a little bit but it was difficult.
“Credit to Denmark, they caused us some threats. Overall we’ve got to look back and see where we can improve.”
