Escape to the Chateau star Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have mulled over the possibility of purchasing another chateau to go along with the one they already own.
The pair bought the Château de la Motte-Husson in the north of France back in 2015 and over the course of nine seasons, Channel 4 viewers got to see the Strawbridges renovate the abode.
The Channel 4 series came to a close in December 2022 following an independent investigation into the duo’s conduct along with production company Two Rivers.
Strawbridge and Adoree have insisted they wanted to bring the show to a close after nine seasons anyway due to the ages of their children, Dorothy and Arthur.
They’ve moved onto pastures new, however, with a new podcast underway, plans for a tour in the pipeline and, of course, the renting out of the chateau as a venue.
And it was on their most recent podcast that Adoree and Strawbridge decided to pour water on any speculation that they may be looking to expand their portfolio of chateaux.

“We are not buying another chateau,” Adoree told their listeners, although that doesn’t mean they haven’t had the conversation.
Adoree delved further: “In fact, someone that we have become friends with over the years who had this gorgeous little chateau was selling hers not that long ago and was a very reasonable price as far as chateaux go.”
Turning her attention to Strawbridge, Adoree teased: “You sort of… you did think -“
Adoree began to laugh as Strawbridge conceded he did think about the possibility of bagging another chateau – and for rather humourous reasons.
He explained: “I thought we could have his and hers chateaux!
“You know, every time Angela p****s me off, I go to my own chateau,” he joked before admitting: “But actually, common sense takes place…”
“Or every time you piss me off I’d send you over there,” Adoree interrupted.
The pair shared a laugh at the discussion as Strawbridge quipped: “There we go! That’s our life. You’ve had a little insight.”

While they may not be looking to buy – or sell – at the moment, the husband and wife duo have addressed the possibility that one day their children may not want to wrestle with the upkeep of the ancient building.
Adoree said ahead at a book launch last year, according to Daily Express: “We have set this up as their forever home. We have got multi-generational living but we also make it really, really clear that there is absolutely no pressure.
“We expect them to travel the world but for us, we just know that we have done the best that we can and they have got some security now.
“It’s like having a business and expecting your children to take it on and the reality is they may not want that. We just have to see what tomorrow holds.”
