Conor McGregor may have one of the best spots in the house to watch Anthony Joshua in action on Saturday night, but the UFC legend had the indignity of seeing his name spelled incorrectly on the seat.

McGregor announced that he would be flying out to Saudi Arabia to watch the huge night of boxing as a guest of Saudi adviser Turki Al-Sheikh.

It’s the second time in the space of a few months the Irish fighter has been present at a boxing event in Saudi Arabia after being present for Tyson Fury’s bout with Francis Ngannou.

But despite McGregor’s seeming popularity with the Saudi officials, it’s not enough for them to get his name spelt correctly.

Broadcaster TNT Sports posted a video clip showing some of the names that would be sitting ringside for the night of boxing.

Saudi’s Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, was to be seated next to the country’s crown prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The his right was Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo with McGregor next to the Al Nassr footballer.

But there was a noticeable error in the spelling of McGregor with his first name spelled as “Connor” instead of “Conor”.

The UFC icon also had some interesting company alongside him with warring promoters Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn seated next to one another.

All were settling in for a blockbuster evening of boxing, headlined by Joshua’s bout against Otto Wallin.

Before that, Wilder will be facing off against Joseph Parker with more eye-catching bouts throughout the night.

It’s the final two fights of the evening that will grab the attention of the boxing fans all over the world though.

Reports this week had suggested that Joshua and Wilder are in line to agree on a deal to fight one another in 2024.

The two former heavyweight champions are on the comeback trail trying to regain their belts.

But both will need to win their respective fights this evening to keep any hopes of coming up against one another next year alive.
