Countdown star Susie Dent shared a big life update with fans, which she admitted was “terrifying”.
The quiz show legend, 59, has been a stalwart on the long-running programme, having joined Countdown back in 1992.
Dent took to social media this week to share some big career news away from the show.
According to The Sun, the lexicographer and etymologist shared a post by publisher Zaffre Books which read: “Introducing the debut novel from Countdown’s @SusieDent… #GuiltyByDefinition.
“Can you solve the mystery of the year? Pre-order a signed copy of this unmissable story from @Waterstones now”, along with a link to where fans could pre-order a copy of the book.
She penned: “This is very happyfying. And also a little terrifying,” along with a link for the book.

A description of the crime and mystery novel reads: “When an anonymous letter is delivered to the Clarendon English Dictionary, it puzzles the team of lexicographers working there.
“It soon becomes clear that this is not the usual eccentric enquiry. The letter hints at secrets, lies, and a particular year.
“For Martha Thornhill, the new Senior Editor, the date can mean only one thing: the summer her brilliant, beautiful older sister Charlie went missing.
“After a decade spent living abroad, Martha has returned to her father, her home, and the city whose institutions have defined her family.

After 32 years on Countdown, Dent remains a staple of the show. However, elsewhere on Channel 4, cuts mean another show she stars in could soon face being axed.
In May, it was reported 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown has been paused, which concerned fans as show cancellations have recently swept the channel.
The Jimmy Carr series has been on screens since 2012, but it seems the final show could have been broadcast if no future episodes make it to air, which some viewers are fearing is the case.
The show features rounds from quiz show Countdown and includes games and comedic segments, with Countdown stars Rachel Riley and Dent also featuring regularly.

Channel 4 series Hunted will also not see any new episodes this year, and some of last year’s shows have been axed.
These include Paddy McGuinness’ Tempting Fortune, Alone, Rise & Fall and Scared of the Dark.
