Chelsea players have been labeled a “disgrace” for leaving a young mascot from the Premier League clash against Liverpool all on his own while ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ blared out on the speakers ahead of the game.
The Blues were played off the park at Anfield with Jurgen Klopp’s side walking away 4-1 victors.
But it’s a short clip from the game before a ball was even kicked at Anfield that has gone viral on social media.
After both teams posed for the pre-match photo in front of the main stand, the two sets of players went off into their own half to prepare for the match.
But Chelsea players have come under fire after their mascot was filmed seemingly being ignored by the team as they walked away for their own pre-match huddle.

The young boy was seen looking unsure where to go and what to do as the Chelsea squad walked away as ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ boomed around the ground.
The mascot eventually jogged off the field on his own with the clip watched nearly three million times on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The incident has caused anger on social media with some fans branded Chelsea players a “disgrace”.
One social media user fumed: “Disgraceful that, for the lad. Where was Chilwell? Not surprising as he was missing all night.”
Another wrote: “That’s really poor from the captain.”
A third moaned: “These players are disconnected with the fans.”
Another person noted: “Shocking from us tbh, sums us up perfectly at the minute.”

The Telegraph claim Chelsea contacted the family and invited the young boy to be the captain’s mascot for another game.
However, it’s reported that Chelsea feel it was the responsibility of Liverpool’s club coordinator to look after the young mascot.
Ben Chilwell was the captain for Chelsea against Liverpool – his first Premier League start since September.
Chelsea’s defeat to Liverpool now leaves them even further adrift of the top-four spots in the Premier League.

It also highlighted a huge gulf between the two sides at the moment and Mauricio Pochettino wants his players to use the match as motivation to bridge the gap.
“It’s not about finding excuses,” he said.
“I think the performance was worse from us. They deserved to win, they were better than us. Being honest we didn’t perform in the way that we wanted to perform. They were better than us from the first action.
“It was so clear, they were more aggressive than us. For us it was difficult to connect and to play and always when we recovered the ball with our first or second touch we gave it away again so easily.

“They won all the duels, I just think they competed better. In all the areas they were better than us, that is why they won.
“In the second half at 2-0 there was the big chance for Mudryk. If he scored maybe that would start to build our confidence and we would play better, and also with the penalty in the action on Nkunku, maybe we would be in the game at 2-2 at that point.
“But even if we scored both of those and got a draw I would be disappointed because our performance wasn’t great.
“It’s good to have this feeling because it’s only one game, because if we want to compete against a team like Liverpool which is very consistent in the last few years competing for trophies and is one of the best in England, then we need to improve and we need to learn from this kind of game.”
