There are lots of great spots to travel to, whether looking for a city break or beach holiday.

Britons can easily reach most parts of the world from the UK, and there are plenty of stunning UK regions to visit for a staycation.

The best regions in the world to visit for 2024 have been named in a new study.

The list includes a beautiful part of the UK, meaning Britons do not need to travel far for an amazing holiday.

The north of Scotland was one of the top places to visit, according to the study by Lonely Planet.

The nearby Donegal in Ireland was also voted among the best spots.

If visiting Scotland, the study highlighted some places of particular interest.

This included Ben Hope, Dunrobin Castle, North Coast 500 and Forsinard Flows Nature Reserve.
