MasterChef continued on Monday, marking the start of finals week as the competition heats up.

For the episode, the four remaining finalists were brought to Singapore to experience the country’s cuisine as they continued to prove they deserved a place in the final.

As the episode began, judge Gregg Wallace told viewers: “Welcome to Singapore, one of the most diverse and exciting food cultures in the world.”

The finalists shared their thoughts on making it so far in the competition and heading to Southeast Asia, with Louise Lyons Macleod stating: “To be in the final four, I’m gobsmacked. I’m so happy to be here in Singapore.”

“Every singe stage feels like you’re ramping up the gears more and more,” Brin Pirathapan commented.

Abi Kempley added: “It’s been months and months of work to get to this point. You don’t get to do this twice, so…”

Lastly, Chris Willoughby began the episode by stating: “The pressure is on. We’re going to be thrown in at the deep end, but I’m definitely going to keep my head down and get working.”

Co-host John Torode remarked: “We’re going to give them challenge after challenge. Their culinary world is about to change forever.”

The four travelled to Singapore along with both judges, but it didn’t take long for viewers of the BBC show to slam the “unnecessary” travel.

“@BBC is it really necessary to take the 4 finalists to signapore !!!!!! I’m presuming the licence fee is paying for this while you make cuts to lots of other programs #masterchef,” one person fumed.

Another added: “The BBC can’t go 5 minutes without banging on about climate change, but flying the Master chef people out to Singapore is ok! #BBC.”

“#MasterChef Why not fly the father of Singapore cuisine to London? Glad I personally defunded the BBC some years ago,” another shared.

However, others took a different view to the episode, with some branding the episode “amazing”.

“How amazing are these cooks. The food is amazing in Singapore. What a fab experience. My feelings are that Chris could win this his cooking is pretty amazing, but all finalists are amazing,” one pointed out.

Referring to a possible winner of the four, another remarked: “Hard to call. Good luck to all the finalists.”

Last week, fans slammed the show for one of the contestants opting to go with a “Jack the Ripper” theme for his dish.

Many were left fuming as Willoughby created food inspired by the infamous 1888 murderer.

GB News has contacted the BBC for a comment over the latest complaints.
