Two men stabbed to death at a business premises in central London were father and son, say police.

Terry McMillan, 58, from Chislehurst, Bromley, was pronounced dead at the scene and Brendan McMillan, 27, died in hospital.

Three other men were taken to hospital.

The attack happened around 1pm on Monday at a property in Long Lane, an east-west road in Southwark that leads to Borough station.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. Police say he remains in hospital and his condition is not life threatening.

Old Colfeians Rugby Club, based in Eltham, called Brendan McMillan a “member of our family” and said his father was a “long-time supporter and sponsor of the club”.

It called Brendan “one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people you could ever meet” who was “forever smiling, always cracking a joke and always full of life”.

Terry McMillan set up a property and investment company in 1998, according to The McMillan Family Trust, a charity that helps children from underprivileged backgrounds.
