Emma Raducanu is through to the second round of the French Open, with the Briton overcoming Chinese opponent Wang Xinyu in three sets on Monday.
The 22-year-old is competing at Roland Garros as she looks to add to the US Open she won back in 2021.
Raducanu had an injury scare towards the start of the showdown in Paris, with the tennis star forced to call for a doctor.
After undergoing several checks she was cleared to play, however, and was able to clinch the first set 7-5.

Given Wang’s status as the underdog, the Chinese star could have been forgiven for crumbling in the spotlight.
However, she came roaring back into contention to claim the second set – forcing an exciting decider.
Raducanu was, however, eventually able to secure victory with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 win.

The health scare didn’t help either, though Raducanu did respond magnificently by claiming the first set mere minutes after she initially required medical attention.
It is the youngster’s first appearance at Roland Garros since 2022. She was forced to withdraw from the 2023 tournament following operations on both wrists and her ankle, while she turned down the chance to play in qualifying last year due to her determination to prioritise Wimbledon.
