A woman has admitted to assaulting two people while drunk on a Ryanair flight.

Catherine Bellis, 44, from Meadowcroft Park in West Derby, appeared before Liverpool Crown Court, where she pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating against Christopher Kenny and Beata Haynes on November 26, 2024.

Bellis, in tears at the hearing, also admitted to being drunk on the aircraft – on its way to Liverpool from holiday hotspot Tenerife – during the incident.

Callum Ross, defending, told the court that his client is a woman of previous good character.

And Judge Anil Murray addressed her directly, stating she would be awarded credit at her sentencing for her guilty pleas.

But the judge informed her that “all options” were on the table ahead of her sentencing next month.

He warned: “There are no promises on what your sentence will be. All options remain available including an immediate custodial sentence.”

Following the court appearance, Bellis was granted unconditional bail by the judge.
