Silent Witness continued on Tuesday, with the previous episode’s dramatic plot coming to a close, but viewers were left sickened by the graphic scenes.

The instalment picked up from Monday’s, which saw Dr Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) travelling on a plane from Mumbai to London, but she found herself in a horrifying situation as passengers began suffering from an unknown and fatal illness.

The saga continued in the latest episode, which aired on January 28, with Nikki attempting to find out what caused the sudden epidemic.

Minutes in, several passengers on the plane were seen throwing up form the affects of the illness, but some fans struggled to keep watching the grim scenes unfold.

The hard-to-stomach sequence saw some viewers begging the show to “stop,” with many others complaining about the graphic nature of the episode.

“Oh God the vomiting Immediately. Stop it,” one viewer penned on X.

“Watching Silent Witness and feeling trapped in a 1970’s disaster movie,” a second penned.

A third shared: “This is both heartbreaking and horrifying #SilentWitness,” while another added: “Give you the boak this #SilentWitness.”

“B****y hell #SilentWitness,” another fan posted on the social media site.

Some also questioned how Nikki had managed to avoid being infected when it appeared people were catching the illness after being in contact with anyone who had displayed symptoms.

On Monday, viewers also took to social media to flag an “annoying” blunder.

It came as Nikki called colleague and fiancé Jack Hodgson at the airport, and decided to chat to him on loud-speaker despite the chaotic environment.

Nicky has gone down in my estimation having a personal call on speakerphone #silentwitness,” one person blasted on X.
