Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a shocking head injury after trying to flick on a corner during Tottenham’s Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The midfielder’s neck appeared to jolt sickeningly, which left him flat out on the pitch.
Pedro Porro sprinted over and alerted officials before paramedics rushed over to attend to the Uruguay international.
There was immediate concern from fans around the stadium, including those nearest to the incident.

His team-mates looked clearly concerned and Dominic Solanke was among those who needed consoling.
Brennan Johnson replaced Bentancur as the match went on as applause rang around the stadium for the midfield ace as the stretcher went down the tunnel.
It took nearly 10 minutes before Bentancur was taken off the pitch as he was attended to by medics.
The 27-year-old needed oxygen as he was taken away as fans await further updates on his condition.
Tottenham posted a positive update on social media, writing on X: “We can confirm Rodrigo is conscious, talking and will go to hospital for further checks.”
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, former Manchester City star Michael Brown said: “I think those players pretty much know what it is [Bentancur’s injury].

“But then also you’ve got to try and focus because the game is about to start because things can change very quickly which is when the management team have got to be on point, looking to see what details.
“Liverpool all around the six-yard area, just waiting but this is a long hold. A huge concern.”

There was complete silence as medics attended to Bentancur before applause broke out as he exited the stadium.
Tottenham are hosting Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night in the first leg of the semi-final.
With Spurs 12th in the Premier League, the competition might be their best chance at silverware.
