A Disney-themed dance party has been described as “disgusting” and “sick” after showing images of murder suspect Luigi Mangione alongside the Hannah Montana track, He Could Be The One.
The DJ-led event in Boston on Friday was billed as featuring music from the Disney Channel.
Images flashed up on a screen of Mangione, who is charged with shooting dead UnitedHealth Group executive Brian Thompson in New York this month.
There has been negative reaction on Facebook where organisers, promoting upcoming dates, posted a video online.
Footage showed images of Luigi Mangione alongside the message: “Disney Channel Night x Luigi coming to your city this holiday season!”
The crowd is heard cheering in reaction to the photographs as the song by Hannah Montana, the Disney character played by actress Miley Cyrus, was played.
As the track ended, the DJ drew further cheers and said: “You gotta give the people what they want.”
People described the video as “disgusting” and “sick” on Facebook.
Disney told Sky News it “did not authorise” and was “not affiliated in any way” with The Bop to the Top event.
The organisers have both been approached for comment along with the venue, Big Night Live.
Mangione, 26, is accused of killing the head of an insurance firm on 4 December and was arrested on 9 December after a manhunt.
He had already been charged with murder but now faces 11 counts including a new charge of murder as an act of terrorism.
