Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler will make his eagerly anticipated return to Alexandra Palace on December 21 for this year’s PDC World Darts Championship.
The 17-year-old from Warrington, now ranked fourth in the world, enters the tournament as the bookmakers’ favourite to lift the Sid Waddell trophy ahead of world number one Luke Humphries.
Littler, who recently featured in a Sky documentary series and made the shortlist for BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Award, will have to wait almost a week after the tournament’s opening night before taking to the famous stage.
It has been a remarkable year for Littler, who began 2024 with an unforgettable final at Alexandra Palace against Luke Humphries, narrowly losing 7-4 as a 16-year-old prodigy.

The teenage star bounced back in spectacular fashion, claiming victory in the Premier League final against Humphries in May.
Despite facing some early exits in major tournaments, Littler’s breakthrough moment came in November when he secured his first major ranking title with an exceptional performance at the Grand Slam of Darts.
This meteoric rise has seen him surge to world number four, setting the stage for his return to the venue where his journey to stardom began.
The World Championship kicks off this Sunday night, December 15, with defending champion Luke Humphries headlining the opening session.
Humphries will face the winner of the tournament’s first match between Frenchman Thibault Tricole and Australian newcomer Joe Comito.
