Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather was forced to flee London’s Hatton Garden today after being confronted by an angry mob whilst jewellery shopping.

The 47-year-old former world champion was bundled into a black 4×4 by his security team following the incident, which reportedly involved between eight and ten people.

Mayweather, who was wearing a green jacket and camo trousers, appeared visibly distressed as his entourage attempted to escort him through the street.

The confrontation was allegedly sparked by the undefeated boxer’s public support for Israel.

According to an eyewitness speaking to The Sun, Mayweather “took a few hits” during the confrontation but did not retaliate.

His bodyguards attempted to push people back to maintain distance between the American boxer and his antagonisers.

The incident, which lasted approximately two minutes, saw around 30 onlookers watching the scene unfold.

However, a source close to Mayweather disputed claims he was struck, telling The Sun that the boxer “was not touched” during the altercation.

Videos posted on social media showed Mayweather shouting back at the crowd before being whisked away in the vehicle.

The confrontation reportedly began when Mayweather was asked about his support for Israel whilst shopping.

A source told The Sun that Mayweather responded by saying he was “proud to support the Jews”, which allegedly prompted someone to take a swing at him.

The boxing legend had only days ago launched the Mayweather Israel Initiative, aimed at providing every orphan in Israel with a free birthday present.

The source claimed the incident “looked very targeted” and alleged that members of the crowd “used racial slurs” towards Mayweather.

Mayweather has been a vocal supporter of Israel since the October 7 Hamas attacks, when he publicly declared his stance on social media.

He was one of the first celebrities to visit Israel following the attacks, in which over 1,000 civilians were killed.

Last month, the boxer hosted a barbecue at an Israel Defense Forces military base.

During his visit, he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he publicly urged to “never back down”.

Earlier this year, Mayweather faced similar controversy when activists disrupted his Las Vegas press conference, where a Palestinian flag was reportedly confiscated by his security team.

Mayweather retired from professional boxing with an unblemished 50-0 record, with his last professional bout against UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017.

His illustrious career included victories over boxing greats such as Manny Pacquiao, Ricky Hatton and Canelo Alvarez.
