Floyd Mayweather believes Jake Paul will be in trouble when he faces a ‘real fighter’ following his recent win over Mike Tyson.

The 27-year-old got the better of his 58-year-old opponent at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, earlier this month.

It was a result virtually everybody expected, especially due to the big age gap between the two men.

Paul has been widely criticised by many figures within the boxing world in the short time since and Mayweather, speaking to TMZ, has now provided his verdict.

The 47-year-old believes the young boxer will be in trouble when he faces a ‘real fighter’, rather than twice his age.

“If you go back, you’ve got to look on the internet and do your homework, I think [Jake] was doing a podcast one time, and he was talking about, ‘I don’t want to do an exhibition against Floyd Mayweather,’ he said’‘I’m only doing real fights’,” he said.

The boxing legend then added: “Of course, I can’t get high up in weight.

“I’d fight him in a real fight in the weight I’m at.

“But Jake Paul, I mean as of right now, for what he’s doing, it’s good for what he’s doing, but once he fights a real actual fighter, it’s gonna be bad.

“One thing I do like about him, he’s selling it and he’s making good money and he’s entertaining, I like it.”

One opponent Paul has called out is Canelo Alvarez.

Yet Mayweather thinks that would be an unwise move because Paul would get ‘f****d up’ by the Mexican star.

“He’d get f****d up by Canelo. There’s no way [that he’d win] he’d get demolished,” he stated.

Tyson’s future in boxing is currently up in the air.

Though he said he was interested in a bout with Logan Paul after his defeat in Texas, Tyson then appeared to U-turn by saying it was his ‘last’ clash in the sport.

As for Paul, various names have been put forward to fight the former YouTube and Disney star.

Yet his business manager, Nikisa Bidarian, has told The Tribune that Conor McGregor would be the best next opponent possible due to his huge global appeal.

“I do believe, and I have said this on record,” he said when asked about Paul potentially facing the Irishman.

“That is the only fight today in the world that could garner the same kind of attention that Jake Paul and Mike Tyson did.

“I believe there is bigger money fights for Jake Paul, like a Canelo, like a Gervonta Davis cause the U.S. will eat that up and the PPV dollars will be massive.

“But in terms of hitting every corner of the world, every geography, every language, every creed, every religion, that fight would do that.”

He added: “I do expect that Jake will fight at least twice in 2025, if not more given his goal to become a world champion.”
