Drake has lost a staggering £281,440 ($355,000) after betting on Mike Tyson to defeat Jake Paul in their highly anticipated Texas boxing match, continuing the notorious “Drake curse.”
The Canadian rapper’s latest high-stakes gambling loss occurred at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, where Paul emerged victorious by unanimous decision.
The 38-year-old musician had confidently backed the 58-year-old boxing legend Tyson, sharing his wager on social media platform Instagram before the bout.
The defeat marks another chapter in Drake’s remarkable streak of unsuccessful sports betting predictions.
At odds of 2.85, Drake could have won £802,116 ($1,011,750) had Tyson prevailed, which would have netted him a profit of £520,672.
The fight, which drew 65,000 spectators to the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium, was broadcast live on Netflix.

Paul dominated the eight two-minute rounds, with the judges scoring the bout 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in the 27-year-old’s favour.
After the victory, Paul said: “Mike Tyson, he’s a legend. He’s the greatest to ever do it. I look up to him and we wouldn’t be here today without him.”
Drake previously lost £790,000 ($1 million) when betting on Argentina to beat France within 90 minutes at the 2022 World Cup final, though Argentina ultimately won in extra time.

The rapper also suffered a £950,000 ($1.2 million) loss when backing Jake Paul to defeat Tommy Fury last year.
Earlier this year, Drake wagered £448,000 ($565,000) on Tyson Fury in his heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk, another unsuccessful bet.
He did manage one notable win, earning £336,780 ($425,000) when Alex Poatan defeated UFC rival Jamahal Hill in April.

Drake’s frequent sharing of massive bets comes with a caveat – he is a paid endorser of betting website Stake, co-founded by Australian billionaire Ed Crave.
As an ambassador for the crypto-only casino, it’s unlikely the rapper uses his own money for the bets he posts online.
Stake, which is banned in the UK, allows users to gamble with cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin.
The platform operates under the jurisdiction of Curaçao, a Caribbean island nation.
