Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans was warned by It Takes Two host Janette Manrara about how strict Craig Revel Horwood is about the swivels in a Charleston.

This weekend, Evans and his professional partner Katya Jones will perform the Charleston to Carmen Suite No. 1: 5. Les toréadors by George Bizet in Blackpool.

Last weekend, they faced the dance-off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu who unfortunately were sent home – which sparked backlash.

As the remaining celebrities put on their best performances for the highly anticipated Blackpool weekend, Manrara had a stern warning for Evans.

The couple joined her on It Takes Two tonight where they discussed what the audience can expect from their Charleston.

Manrara excitedly noted: “You’re not just through; you are through to Blackpool! Where you are going to be dancing a Charleston.

“Wynne, we have not had a Charleston in five weeks, a Charleston is a fan favourite and people love watching a good Charleston so what does the music suggest we have to look forwardto?

The opera singer revealed: “Do you know what, it is drama and those swivels. They are the most unnatural thing I have ever seen in my life.

“It has taken me two days to master the swivels before we can move on to the routine so,” leaving the former professional to warn: “Craig really loves a swivel so be careful.”

Jones continued: “You know I like an unexpected twist and you wouldn’t expect the Charleston to do this but we… it’s our take on an Opera Carmen.”

“But this is Opera on a budget,” Wynne cleared up before Jones added: “There is drama, there is swivels, there is lots of lifts. It can be dangerous.

The warning from Manrara comes after Evans backed Shirley Ballas’ decision to save him over Ward – which left some viewers furious.

After Horwood and Motsi Mabuse chose to save Ward, Anton Du Beke and head judge Ballas sent through Evans and Jones.

Fans of the show claimed it was “fixed” and urged bosses to change the rule that Ballas gets the final say on who goes home.

The 52-year-old addressed the backlash and controversy on Radio Wales with co-stars Dot Davies and James Williams.

Davies began: “I don’t want you to do that again! I’ve always said [Shirley’s] a good girl, I’ve always liked that Shirley. Good girl, saw sense!”

Wynne went on to explain how it had felt being in the dance-off and said: “Gosh, I tell you. It was pretty nerve-wracking to say. And also I think I approach it from a different angle, I think, to some people because I’m having a good time, and thrilled to be there.

“I was talking to Pete Wicks about this last night and we were saying, do you remember how we used to go to the pub with our mates?

“Cos we’ve been in Strictly, in the bubble, for three months and so I haven’t been out, I haven’t done anything. I mean, Sundays you can go out if you want – last night I was in the ice bath so yeah…”
