Luke Littler has reportedly landed himself a spot on a reboot of 1980s hit TV show Bullseye for a Christmas special.

Cricket icon Freddie, real name Andrew, Flintoff is set to front the programme, taking on the role of the beloved Jim Bowen, which was popular in the ’80s but still has legions of fans.

According to The Sun, the 17-year-old has agreed to be the darts star for the reboot, which will air at Christmas.

The show has contestants paired up – one answering questions and the other throwing darts at a board with categories on it.

The couple that progresses to the final must best the score of the darts star, a position that has been done by legends such as Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson in the past.

A source allegedly told The Sun: “Luke wasn’t even born when Bullseye was on our screens with original host, Jim Bowen. But Luke knows this is a plum role to have landed.

“As he steps up to the Bullseye oche he knows he’s following in the footsteps of legends including Eric Bristow and Jocky Wilson who all threw darts on the programme in its 1980s heyday.

“It’s also a coup for the makers of the new Bullseye as Luke is now one of Britain’s best-known players.”

Littler has become one of the faces of darts since reaching the World Championship final earlier this year, which he lost to Luke Humphries.

He stated: “If they can do that and he can remain at the top of his game for 10 or so years, then he’ll be worth more than David Beckham.

“It’s hard for any player to remain at the top for that length of time.”

It will also herald the return of Flintoff to prime-time screens for the first time since his horror crash as presenter of Top Gear in 2022.

The injuries left the England legend with severe facial scars and the incident at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey.

The 46-year-old said: “Bullseye was one of my favourite shows as a kid. I can’t quite believe I’ll get to host this.”
