Egypt is a popular holiday destination famous for its incredible ancient history and architecture, exciting desert adventures and water sports, year-round sunshine and delicious cuisine.

Nevertheless, before visiting, holidaymakers should consult the UK Government’s travel advice so they are prepared.

Recently, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) gave updated information on the Conflict affecting Lebanon.

Britons were warned: “Ongoing hostilities between Israel and Lebanon could escalate quickly and pose risks for the wider region.

“Monitor this travel advice and other media as the situation is changing fast.”

Holidaymakers were advised to follow and contact the FCDO travel on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

You can also get email notifications when this travel advice is updated.

Before going abroad, tourists were also encouraged to consult the FCDO’s advice on if you’re affected by a crisis abroad.

This guidance includes information on how the FCDO defines a crisis, who and how the FCDO can help, what holidaymakers do if they face a crisis abroad, how to prepare for a potential crisis, support in the UK after a crisis and terrorist attacks abroad.

If you are affected by a crisis abroad, contact the FCDO at (+44) (0)207 008 5000.

Holidaymakers in other Middle East countries, such as Kuwait and Qatar, were given similar warnings.

This comes as Britons were given a Middle East travel update as the “situation could change suddenly”.

Visitors to Jordan were given an update on the debris from ballistic missiles that targeted Israel on October 1 and the reopening of Jordanian airspace.

Britons were also issued a travel warning for Dubai and more over the “fast-changing situation”.

Before going abroad, holidaymakers should consult the FCDO’s up-to-date information on warnings and insurance, entry requirements, safety and security, regional risks, health and getting help.
