Ryanair customers travelling today and this summer may be impacted by “potential delays” to and from the UK.

It has warned about poor weather conditions around London Stansted Airport affecting flights today. This comes as strikes continue to cause chaos.

Low visibility, outside the airline’s control, has caused disruptions for customers jetting off today.

Ryanair stated: “Due to low visibility at London Stansted this morning delaying the first wave of flights, we advise passengers due to travel to/from Stansted today Wednesday 24 July of potential delays throughout the day.

“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from London Stansted should check their Ryanair app for the latest updates on their flight.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these weather conditions, which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from London Stansted Wednesday 24 July.”

Weather conditions can cause delays for holidaymakers so it is worth monitoring the situation and checking for updates before jetting off.

Britons heading to popular European hotspots have been warned of extreme weather in the likes of Spain, Greece and more.

Temperatures are expected to soar above 40C in some parts of the countries this week. This could be dangerous for holidaymakers so they are advised to take caution when in the sun.

This comes as the airline has an ongoing reminder to customers that ATC staff strikes may cause delays this summer.

The strikes have led to delays of flights with Ryanair and other airlines and have been continuing for weeks.

The airline said: “Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, on Wednesday 24 July apologises to its passengers for the excessive flight delays caused by European ATC staff shortages today Wednesday 24 July which are affecting all European airlines.

“ATC services, which have had the benefit of no French ATC strike disruption this summer, continue to underperform (despite flight volumes being five per cent behind 2019 levels) with repeated ‘staff shortages’.

“On Wednesday 24 July, 23 per cent of Ryanair’s first wave departures (136 of 580 aircraft) were delayed due to ATC ‘staff shortages’. These repeated flight delays due to ATC mismanagement are unacceptable.

“We apologise to our passengers for these repeated ATC flight delays which are deeply regrettable but beyond Ryanair’s control.”
