David Baddiel has shared his no-holds-barred opinions on Prince Harry after releasing his own memoir about his family.

The Duke of Sussex hit headlines across the globe last year with a tell-all autobiography of his own titled Spare in which he detailed several behind-the-scenes secrets from life as a royal.

Harry was criticised for Spare and its revelations given his decision to leave his role as a working member of the Royal Family and start a new life in California with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Baddiel has entered the non-fiction charts with his book, My Family, as he takes a humorous look back at his upbringing and candidly dives into topics such as his mother’s affair and father’s anger issues.

But when writing the book, parallels with Prince Harry began to be drawn in his head as he mulled over how to put his stories onto the page.

In the end, Baddiel described his memoir as “celebratory” as he explained: “It’s the excruciating truth, but I believe seeing people properly, truthfully, is an act of love.

“And I don’t think Harry’s interested in the truth, only in ‘his’ truth – which is angry.”

Speaking to Radio Times, Baddiel went on to suggest Harry made a pivotal mistake when it came to mending bridges with his loved ones.

The 60-year-old quipped Harry should’ve approached his issues through comedy, remarking: “My Royal Family: the Sitcom? Wouldn’t it be amazing if he did that?”

Baddiel’s remarks on the Duke come just days after it emerged he and Markle’s plans to purchase a home in the UK have stalled.

It’s been claimed they’ve had to drop plans for the foreseeable future due to concerns over their security when in the UK.

The couple had reportedly been house hunting for a base for them to occupy when they’re not Stateside.

However, a source told the Daily Express: “Harry really does want to spend more time in the UK but doesn’t feel comfortable doing that until the security issues have been ironed out.

“He and Meghan planned on looking for a part-time home near Windsor this year and hoped that the appeals process would be heard before the end of July so that they could properly start their search.

“However, the court process seems to be taking its time.”

Meanwhile, Harry is also preparing for the release of his new documentary about his mother, Princess Diana.

Baddiel, on the other hand, is spending much of his time promoting his new book, posting a series of positive reviews on his social media outlets.

And on Sunday, he celebrated topping the bestseller charts in the celebrities and entertainment category.
